WINERY MANAGER

POSITION OVERVIEW:  The Winery Manager provides support for the day-to-day operations of Engine House 25 Winery, including administrative, order fulfillment, and wine-making tasks.

This position reports to the Owner of Engine House 25 Winery and oversees staff and volunteers. The work schedule will fluctuate seasonally.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with Marketing Manager to update the event/winery website, and utilize website, social media to help promote the Winery. 

  • Develop relationships with potential event partners and community organizations.

  • RAMP certification is required and will be covered by Engine House 25 Wines.

  • Check and reply to email and phone calls daily.

  • Fulfill wine orders.

  • Assure adequate Winery stock of all supplies including wine, paper products.

  • Assure cleanliness of all facilities.

  • Assist with wine-making, bottling, and labeling as needed.

  • Track wine usage using google docs and generate sales reports using Square. Generate reports monthly

  • Maintain clear and consistent communications with all staff.

  • Meet regularly with Engine House Owner, Clemente Museum Director and other staff


NECESSARY SKILLS AND EXPERTISE

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with and manage clients in a consultant role; high customer service ethic

  • Solid Leadership and management skills

  • Knowledge about wines and wine-making.

  • Forward-thinking with the ability to think creatively and logically when evaluating situations, whether they be opportunities or problems

  • Professional approach and appearance in relations with clients, vendors and guests and staff. 

  • Intermediate or above level with Google Docs Editors Suite and other appropriate software as well as Social Media platforms.

  • Collaborative, positive, team-oriented attitude

  • High level of energy and drive to get involved and succeed

  • Willingness to learn, adapt and develop

  • Able to work days, evenings and weekends as needed; and flexible to work additional hours during peak season

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift objects up to 40 pounds and carry for short distances.

  • Ability to stand for 4 – 6 hours.

  • Perform housekeeping maintenance.


COMPENSATION

Salary for the Winery & Events Manager is competitive and commensurate with experience.
